City Tour: During this tour, we’ll visit the archaeological sites located around the city such as Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Q’enqo and Sacsayhuaman. In the heart of the Inca capitol, we’ll visit the famous Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha (Qori=gold; Cancha=enclosure, or Golden Temple), as well as several colonial churches.

Sacred Valley of the Incas: Because inhabitants believed that the valley’s Urubamba River was the reflection of the Milky Way, and because Inca rulers often visited the valley to rest, the fertile valley surrounding Cusco was called the Sacred Valley. In the course of a one-day tour, we’ll visit a number of sites, including Pre-Columbian Pisaq, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.

Machu Picchu: This famous archaeological jewel lies among three converging canyons. We’ll spend a full day visiting the archaeological sanctuary, first crossing through twelve distinct ecosystems as we ascend. Machu Picchu is located at the edge of the rainforest, which will allow us to observe abundant vegetation native to the region’s high-altitude jungles.

Southern Cusco Valley Circuit: We’ll visit the archaeological complex of Tipón, where we’ll explore an exceptional Inca irrigation system with vertical and horizontal canals running along Andean terraces. The water spouts from underground into a spring that distributes water to the canals. Later, we’ll visit the archaeological site of Pikillacta and village of Andahuaylillas.
